NQ Water is committed
to ensuring the region's water system is able to handle peak demands,
particularly as growth within the region continues. Specific projects
currently in the planning and construction phases are listed below.
Infrastructure Plans for the next 5 years
- Construction of a Northern Treatment Plant to ensure
continuing quality of water from the Paluma/Crystal Creek System at
a cost of $15m.
- Expansion of integrated system including:
- Pipeline and balancing storage to and at
Mount Jack
- A northern water treatment plant
- A southern water treatment plant
- Major upgrade work at Ross Rover Dam
- Construction of the Toonpan Treatment Plant and associated
facilities as part of the Burdekin Dam upgrade at a cost of $12.6m.
