Townsville City Council by-election on 22 November 2008

Townsville voters will go to the polls for the Townsville City Council by-election on Saturday 22 November 2008. Voting is compulsory and all enrolled voters across the city will be eligible to cast a ballot due to Townsville's current non-divisional electoral system. Read more information about the by-election and view the map to locate your nearest polling booth. Polling results will be regularly updated after 6.30pm on Saturday 22 November.

Council now looks after many services that were previously provided by NQ Water prior to amalgamation in March 2008. Check out Water and Wastewater's pages and find out how to book camping sites for Paluma, book boat permits for Black Weir, check the dam levels, find out more about water restrictions, learn some water saving tips, plus much more.

Important information about Townsville Civic Theatre ticket sales and access

Due to roadworks on Boundary Street, there will be no access to Boundary Street via Charters Towers Road, including the Townsville Civic Theatre and TicketShop, for the period Monday 10 November until Saturday 22 November. Access to the Theatre is available via Railway Avenue.
Residents are reminded to drive carefully through public work sites

Townsville City Council endeavours to take great care to create a safe environment for pedestrians and drivers while public works are being undertaken. Please drive safely through these areas and obey road signs indicating speed limits. You can also search the database to find out more information about all public works occurring throughout Townsville.
