Tenders close on dam design 29/04/2004 The next stage of the Ross River Dam upgrade is about to start with the review of tenders for detailed design. Tenders closed yesterday (Wed 28 Apr) and are currently being scrutinised, said NQ Water CEO Ken Diehm. “At this stage, consultants have tendered a detailed scope of works and fee estimates,” said Mr Diehm. “The upgrade of Ross River Dam is the largest civil works ever conducted in Townsville and Thuringowa. “We are committed to ensure that the process runs smoothly and that we achieve a result of the highest quality” Mr Diehm said Townsville and Thuringowa City Council would be consulted in the process and the community kept informed of progress. Tenders have been received from GHD and Montgomery Watson Harza, Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation and Ross River Engineering Group (a consortium of companies including Coffey geosciences, Maunsell Australia, Dept of Commerce NSW, Hydro Tasmania, and BDR Consulting). NQ Water is expected to announce a preferred tenderer by the end of June. Contact: © 2004 NQ Water |
